Wish you were here

I wake up and look to the left of me 
to the spot you're supposed to be
close my eyes... count one, two, three
would that when I open them 
you’ll be standing in front of me.
But no you're gone, 
you're somewhere out there
far from home on another adventure.
Looking for the answers I couldn't give.
Leading the life, I couldn't live.

I wish you were here; I wish you were near
I wish the miles between us could disappear
then I'd wake up with the sun shining on my face
and you next to me...  
in sweet embrace.

know no matter how far you roam
just think of me, when you think of home.
