decrepit disbursement disabuse

The fallout from yesterday's 
festivity is surely to last a week or more  
but I don't keep score, 
It depends how it's handled. 
Will the disbursement of disgust 
spread evenly across all platforms? 
In this easily distracted age 
controversy is complicated 
Every “Oh My Gah what did they do?!” 
gets it's 15 minutes 
before being replaced with another scandal 
before it's what-abouted into oblivion. 

It's hard to disabuse the masses 
of any notion of wrongdoing 
when they can always find a 
reason to justify their actions and beliefs 
no matter how decrepit the arguments are
Lord they would fall apart
if forced to finally accept & face facts. Maybe out of pride
they'll always accept the lie.I
ts the only way they can save face
It almost makes one laugh
but seriously it's so sad
and leaves me with tears
in my eyes
as I watch them march
like lemmings to the top of the hill
on which they chose to die.
